Requirements

Pair your Wireless Apple Keyboard to your Macbook or Mac air or Mac pro server with bluetooth. You can do it easy.Just watch. I recently purchased the ergonomic surface keyboard however I can't get it to pair with my mac laptop. Currently running OS Mojave 10.14. I can see the keyboard in the bluetooth options, however it doesn't recognise it as a keyboard and asks me to type in a code. The keyboard is not connected so I can't type in the code.

To get set up, you'll need a PC that's running Windows 10 with support for Bluetooth 4.0 or later. This keyboard supports Swift Pair in Windows 10 for faster pairing. To use the Expressive key, you'll need a PC that's running Windows 10 Version 1903 or later.

Connect your keyboard

You can pair your keyboard with up to three devices. Here's how to connect it to your Windows 10 PC:

  1. Slide the switch on the bottom of your keyboard to turn it on. Your keyboard will automatically enter pairing mode and the LED light will flash. If it doesn't, press and hold the pair button on the top left of your keyboard for 5 seconds or until the LED light starts to flash.

  2. On your Windows 10 PC, select Connect if a notification appears for your keyboard, then wait for it to get set up.
Don't see the notification? Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other devices > Bluetooth > Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard > Done.

To pair your keyboard with another device, press the pair button. The light will change to the next Bluetooth slot and your keyboard will enter pairing mode. If the notification to Connect appears on multiple PCs, select it on the PC you want to pair to then follow the instructions.

Replace your batteries

Your Microsoft Designer Compact Keyboard uses four coin-cell (C2032) batteries. Here's how to put the batteries in your keyboard:

  1. Turn your keyboard over and insert a pin into the small hole.

  2. Keep holding the pin and slide the battery door away from the keyboard.

  3. Place your batteries into the available slots. Make sure the postive end is facing up.

  4. Slide the battery door back into position.

To check the battery level, select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices . The battery level appears next to your keyboard.
